Curry Powder
If you’re going to cook Indian food you had better start making some curry. There are so many different curries out there this is just another to keep on hand, and you definitely want to have a nice curry powder on hand so that when people see it you can say, “Why, yes that is my own curry blend!” Show the looky-loo that you are the better pretentious chef because you know how to make a good Indian Curry powder! There is a red curry sauce under the “Sauces” section that uses fresh ingredients and does use this in the mixture. So, master this first.
Ingredients
2 TBSP Ground Coriander
2 TBSP Ground Cumin
1 ½ TBSP Ground Turmeric
2 tsp Ground Ginger
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Ground Mustard Seed
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Cayenne Powder
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
Instructions
Throw all the ingredients in a cast iron skillet over medium heat to toast them. Make sure all the ingredients are not living otherwise they will scream in pain.
Keep mixing the ingredients around, if not they will burn quickly, and taste terrible.
When the mixture color darkens remove from heat and put it in a jar.
